The legend says that the apple is one of the favorite fruits in the world. Isn’t it ?
So, everybody likes the apple crumble ! Here is a recipe from my childhood. I like it when my grandmother makes an apple crumble from the apples that we grow in the garden. During big meals, my grandmother served us a delicious apple crumble with a custard.
Time : 10 minutes
Cooking : 30 minutes
- a hollow mold
- a plastic container
- 6 apples
- 200 g of flour
- 200 g of sugar
- 200 g of butter
- A piece of butter for the mold
- Cinnamon or lemon juice
The preparation of apple crumble :
- In microwave, you melt some butter in bowl.
- Then in a plastic container, mix flour and sugar.
- Add the melted butter and mix this preparation with your hands.
- You have to knead the mix until you get a mixture that crumbles.
- Peel six apples and cut them in many little pieces. You can add a lemon juice or cinnamon on apples to give more taste.
- You can cook the apples in a saucepan until they go soft but it is not necessary.
- Grease with butter the hollow mold.
- Put the pieces of apple in mold and cover with the mixture that crumbles.
- Cook during 30 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
TIPS of OPERAL FOOD : According to your tastes, it is possible to add chocolate or strawberries in apples to embellish your dessert.

To decorate your apple crumble, you can realize apple crisps. It is very easy and fast ! You just need a little time and patience …
Cooking : a long time … 2 hours !
- A mandolin
- Just some apples
Preparation of apple crisps
- Peel your apples.
- Remove just the heart of apple with the pips.
- With a mandolin, cut apple slices.
- Finally, put apple slices on cooking plate with baking paper and cook during two hours at 120 degrees Celsius.
- Allow to cool before serving.
TIPS of OPERAL FOOD : Open the oven door after one hour of cooking to remove the humidity of apples. So, the apple crisps will be more crusty.
